Arusha National Park
- Overview: Located just a short drive from the city of Arusha, Arusha National Park is one of Tanzania’s smaller parks but is incredibly diverse. It encompasses the slopes, summit, and ash cone of Mount Meru, the Momella Lakes, and the Ngurdoto Crater.
- Wildlife: The park is home to giraffes, zebras, buffalos, monkeys (including the black-and-white colobus monkey), and a variety of bird species. It’s also a great place for walking safaris and canoeing on the Momella Lakes.
- Unique Feature: Mount Meru, an active volcano and the second-highest mountain in Tanzania, offers challenging hikes and stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
